Updates

March 18, 2024: at Best Buy, as low as $899 for the 13-inch M2 MacBook Air. Link here.

Original Post

MacBook Air, M1: this is absolutely incredible. More computer than almost any high school / college student will ever need is selling for around $700, down from an original $1100 or thereabouts just a few years ago. Link here

A dollar a day for two years. Which brings up another comment: it’s time for subscription deals from Apple: for $1 / day, a brand new laptop every two years.

Biggest pet peeve regarding Apple's laptops:

$2 for 16 GB?

But as an investor, I'm loving it.

Bonus Word Of The Day

Tracing how I got there:

Emily Brontë (1818 – 1848):

From Reading the Brontës: An Introduction to Their Novels and Poetry, by Charmian Knight and Luke Spencer:
“As well as my selection of Emily’s poems, there is another poem here for you to read. It is by Sylvia Plath, the American poet who spent some of her short life (like Emily, she died at thirty – suicide, perhaps accidental) in the West Riding of Yorkshire and was buried there in 1963. Called ‘Wuthering Heights,’ it registers Plath’s strong response to the moorland surroundings of Haworth and can serve as an introduction to the themes and images of Emily’s poetry which I want to consider.”

The Book Page

I spent much of the morning updating this blog: https://milliondollarliterature.blogspot.com/p/story-telling.html.

It may be a jumping-off point for my next weekly note. We'll see.

I may change my oft-repeated guidance from "never stop reading", to "never stop doing, but at the same time, never quit reading." And when feeling that "low," remember, "this, too, will pass."
