Yes, we drilled a couple of wells up there and not crazy about what we found to date, so kind of recalibrating there. We have just under 0.5 million acres kind of south of Dickinson and really to the Three Forks idea for us. And I suspect the western part of our acreage, which is kind of abuts where Whiting is operating, will probably work out fine. We drilled our initial wells more towards the south than the east. So disappointed to date in what we've seen in the Bakken, but have a huge acreage position there. We didn't spend a whole lot of money on it, so not too worried about that. And really, just moving our rigs over to the western side of the play and kind of cozy up a little bit more to what Whiting is doing there.

Gary sent me this information some time ago. I think I posted some of it, but can't remember how much. Again, this helps me understand the activity in the Williston Basin:

In regards to the Chesapeake wells in southern Stark County: If those wells hit with viable production numbers, Dickinson has just seen the tip of a full blown oil frenzy around here... But my real comment on the drilling rigs still being on site.. In talking to a knowledgeable driller just a few weeks ago he made the comment that there is a shortage of work over rigs and that the rigs are staying on the pad and doing a lot of the jobs that the work over rigs used to do. No doubt also because of a shortage of fracking crews, also. 

Chesapeake Drilling In Hettinger County -- North Dakota, USA

Oil drilling activity has begun to creep south in North Dakota as one company has taken interest in Hettinger County.

In July, Chesapeake Exploration, LLC of Oklahoma applied for a 1,280-acre drilling unit to be used for a horizontal well about 5 miles east of New England.

The space needed for drilling a well is 640 acres, but many new rigs apply for more space, which is what Chesapeake did.

Hettinger County Economic Development Director Mark Resner said there hasn’t been production in the county for more than 10 years.
