Black Monday, October 19, 1987, was the largest single-day percentage stock market crash in Wall Street history. How bad was the crash? I know exactly where I was that evening after the news came in. We were serving overseas, Bitburg Air Base, Germany, and in a time zone six hours ahead of central time / eastern time in the US.
It appeared a lot of folks this past Friday, at the close of the market, were comparing what was happening then (two days ago) with Black Monday, October 19th, 1987 -- almost exactly forty years ago to the day (actually 39 years) ... the good news --- futures ...
