US Flag Day: proclaimed in 1916 by President Woodrow Wilson.

June 14th is celebrated as Flag Day in the United States to commemorate the adoption of the first official American flag. On this date in 1777, the Second Continental Congress passed a resolution establishing that the young nation's flag would feature 13 alternating red and white stripes and 13 white stars on a blue field.  
2026 - 1777 = 249 years.
