Random Update Of An Old Petro-Hunt Charlson Well -- November 11, 2021

I'm too tired to go into this but at least we can get started. These wells are tracked here.

The Charlson oil field is an incredibly good field, pretty much owned by Petro-Hunt.

The well:

  • 24046, 1,661, Petro-Hunt, State 154-94-31C-32-2H, Charlson, t1/16; cum 467K 9/21;

CLR's Fancy Buttes And The Norway Wells -- November 11, 2021

This page won't be updated; these wells are tracked elsewhere

Fancy Buttes: Fancy Buttes is literally two sections big -- that's it -- two sections. It's squeezed in between Dimmick Lake and Johnson Corner. I guess it would be Tier 1 but I've never thought much about it. But, it's so typical of the Bakken. These are mediocre to good wells, but for the mom-and-pop mineral owners, they are outstanding. So much going on. I just don't have time to write about all of this, but these wells really are amazing, considering. Good for CLR.

Supply Chain Issues? LOL -- Not For The Chinese, Apparently. I Think American Analysts Complain Too Much -- November 11, 2021

I didn't have time to post this, so will let a reader do that for me:

Alibaba is a Chinese company, so is JD.com.
On 11-11 each year they have a shopping event called "Singles Day" I had never heard of it.
In 11 days, JD.com did 50% more business than our 3 biggest shopping days, combined. (Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Amazon Prime Day) And Alibaba sold 35 BILLION more than JD.com. Yikes!

Link here.

Chinese tech giant Alibaba raked in a whopping $84.5 billion in sales during its annual 11/11 Singles Day shopping extravaganza.
This year’s numbers blew away the company’s 2020 sales of $74 billion, despite Alibaba facing regulatory scrutiny at home, and the pandemic-driven global supply chain crunch.
The largest shopping event in the world, Singles Day dwarfs Amazon’s Prime Day, Cyber Monday, and Black Friday combined, which came in at about $30.7 billion.
Some 290,000 brands participated in Alibaba’s shopping festival, which began on Nov. 1 and ran through Nov. 11. Alibaba rival JD.com said it pulled in $48.7 billion just before the end of the shopping day in China.

No Daily Activity Report From The NDIC Today -- A State Holiday -- November 11, 2021

Active rigs: no daily activity report today; state holiday. But probably about 32 active rigs.

The Johan Sverdrup oilfield is tracked here. Apparently there is a power failure shutting in / shutting down the field. Reported early evening central time, today, Thursday, November 11, 2021. The Svedrup accounts for 0.5% of world supply. This outage should have no material effect on global oil production.

OPEC: swing capacity? Unlikely. OPEC fell short on oil production target in October, 2021, coming out of the pandemic. Link here to Tsvetana Paraskova

They must reading the blog: New York scrambles to prevent grid meltdown as winter nears. Link here. No grid meltdown if everyone turns their thermostat down to 65°F as recommended by Brandon.
