Off the net for a few hours: Veterans' Day activities at the local school.
Stagflation? Wuhan flu? Energy crisis? Say what? JD.com smashes it's one-day sales record with almost $50 billion in sales -- in one day and the sale is not yet over. Link here.
AAPL day: dividend paid today? Not sure, but I think I read that somewhere.
Streaming: CNBC had a nice piece on streaming networks this morning. Will try to find it later today.
- Disney won't do well
- Disney needs to consolidate Disney+, ESPN, Hulu
- Comcast in the driver's seat
Metals: link to Alex Kimani.
WTI: testing $80, again.
COP26: it's the silly season, but I can't remember a time when there has been such a disparity between fantasy and reality when it come to energy. LOL. Maybe I will expand on that later, but for all concern about not enough oil in the US, the number of days of crude supply remains pretty much unchanged, from 28.9 days last week, to 28.8 days this week. Link here. That's an incredible four weeks of supply: hurricane season is ending; driving season has ended; more than adequate imports from Russia now that Brandon has killed the Keystone.

RBN Energy: local issues also at play in Questar pipeline sale. Archived.
Plato may have said it, Shakespeare wrote about it, and anyone who has engaged in a friendly debate about the best classic car, hunting rifle, or wristwatch knows it to be true: beauty lies in the eye of the beholder.
Of course, not everyone sees value the same way, or value in the same things.
That’s at the heart of the dispute over the recently announced acquisition of Questar Pipeline LLC by Southwest Gas Holdings.
The prospective buyer sees Questar as a picture-perfect addition, while an activist investor sees it as a butt-ugly mistake. In today’s RBN blog, we continue an examination of the Southwest Gas/Questar deal with a look at Questar’s relationship with its local distribution companies, potential competition with the nearby Kern River Pipeline, and challenges Questar may face in serving power generators and direct industrial load.
Bruce. Thank you for your service to our country.
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking time to write. I just got back from a veterans day event at the local high school. I will post more about it later. I appreciate your kind words.

I think my photo has been posted before, but rare.
DeleteYes, I will update the active rig roster periodically. It's not perfect, but it gives me an idea of what's going on.
Fantasy vs Reality.
ReplyDeleteRelying on a pipe dream vs a pipeline.
I'll have to remember that. That's pretty good. Thank you.
DeleteFeel free to use it. Its my own-no copyright issue at all.
ReplyDeleteMike, that is brilliant! I will use it when I run
ReplyDeleteinto a pipeline apartheidist.
- fracking Hans
Yes, it was quite clever.
DeleteMaybe I will copyright it...
ReplyDeleteBrandon will plagiarize it. Just something to think about.
