Mini Re-Fracks

When the Broderson DUCs were fracked, three older Broderson underwent small mini re-fracks. Production profile for two of the three below; the third previously posted -- see link above. For the expense of a very small re-frack Equinor got a very, very nice #24411 (below0:
  • 24413, a mini-refrack in 2019; 1.5 million lbs of 100-mesh sand, just like #24372:

Random Update Of Statoil Russel Well In Painted Woods -- April 20, 2018

The well:
  • 19930, two frack/IP (see below), Statoil, Russell 10-3 1H, Painted Woods, cum 286K 2/18;
    • first frack: 5/22/11 -- 2,670, 36 stages; 4 million lbs; large/small ceramic
    • second frack: 8/11/17 -- 82, 1.9 million lbs, all mesh
For newbies: this is an important data point/random well update. The Bakken is now in the manufacturing phase. Bakken wells:
  • will be drilled
    • some will go immediately into production
    • some will be fracked/completed later (DUCs) -- within two years
  • once completed, Bakken wells will:
    • have pumps installed
    • undergo work-overs (think roto-rooter)
    • undergo mini-re-fracks
    • be re-fracked: standard re-fracks; high-intensity re-fracks
    • taken off-line while neighboring wells are fracked/re-fracked
    • come back off -line once work on neighboring wells is completed
    • be remotely "managed" for production
  • will produce for 35 years (source: NDIC)
  • with "current" EURs of --
    • less than 500,000 bbls: poor wells
    • 500,001 - 750,000 bbls: "okay" wells for those with low expectations
    • 750,001 - 1,000,000 bbls: expectations for Bakken wells on the fringe
    • 1,000,001 -- 1,500,000: expectations for Bakken wells inside the fringe
    • > 1.5 million bbls: currently not much said about EURs greater than 1.5 million bbls ...
#19930 is a good example of a fairly mediocre well simply undergoing a very small re-frack -- few stages (it was a long lateral) and very little proppant and it was all mesh, relatively inexpensive to re-accomplish. By the way, this well is the only one in this drilling unit and is located on the fringe.

Random Update Of An MRO Mini Re-Frack In Antelope Oil Field; #19144 -- March 20, 2018

This is mostly being posted for newbies just to give them an idea what the Bakken is all about. We talked about this well on February 3, 2018. See graphic at that link. Now we have more production data.

The well:
  • 19144, 952, MRO, TAT USA 34-22H, Antelope, Sanish formation; t3/11; cum 364K 1/18; re-fracked in November, 2017, a mini-re-frack;
This well was drilled and fracked back in 2011. It was an "okay" well, but nothing spectacular. Over the years it managed to produce about 300,000 bbls of oil; not bad.

But then, MRO re-fracked the well, 11/3/17 - 11/5/17: but wow, talk about a small frack, only 1.7 million lbs of water; total proppant was 90.6% water and 8.9% sand. Not much at all, but look at the return. This was such a small re-frack, that for all intents and purposes, this mini re-frack must not have cost the company much:

Random Look At An MRO TAT USA Well In Antelope Oil Field -- February 3, 2018

Updates

March 20, 2018: production data updated; this turned out to be quite a re-frack.

Original Post

See this post.

MRO horizontals along #19144 are in the process of being fracked (some have reported production data after being fracked). I was curious what production data for #19144 looks like. Here is the well and recent production:
  • 19144, 952, MRO, TAT USA 34-22H, Antelope oil field, Sanish pool; t3/11; cum 346K 12/17;

After coming back on line, this well produced 8,000 bbls of crude oil over eight days which extrapolates to about 30,000 bbls/month. It turns out #19144 was re-fracked. According to FracFocus this well was re-fracked 11/3-5/17: 1.76 million gallons of water, and 9% sand.
