Some data points and comments:
- the Harold Hamm story was released before the market opened today (Tuesday, June 14, 2022);
- at market close today, 9.5 million shares had traded today
- normal 90-day moving trading volume is 1.5 million shares
- a reader tells me that based on the 5/2/2 CLR corporation presentation:
- CLR had approximately $960 million to purchase outstanding shares
- at $75, this is 12,800,000 shares
- according to Yahoo!Finance, there are 362.97 million outstanding shares (prior to today's announcement)
- Harold Hamm apparently owned 83% of the shares prior to the announcement
- SEC filings released this next week should clarify how many shares Harold Hamm bought today, assuming he bought any at all
