A Closer Look At Four WPX Meadowlark Wells In Heart Butte -- June 28, 2020

Assuming this is not an error, this could be quite a well. This is one of many wells that came off the confidential list in 2Q20 but did not report any production data at the time it was released. Since then, production has been reported.

The well:
  • 36964, drl/drl, WPX, Meadowlark 6-34HB, Heart Butte, t--; cum 21K over 7 days;
Production:

Now, if that is accurate, and not an error, the well produced 20,726 bbls over seven days which extrapolates to 88,826 bbls over 30 days.

Do you know what they called these wells in 1969? Gushers.

The four wells on that pad:
  • 36964, see above
  • 36963, drl/A, WPX, Meadowlark 6-34HW, Heart Butte, t--; cum 18K over 7 days;
  • 36962, drl/A, WPX, Meadowlark 6-34HA, Heart Butte, t--; cum 34K over 25 days;
  • 36961, drl/A, WPX, Meadowlark 6-34HQL, Heart Butte, t--; cum 14K over 17 days;
Early production:

To the east, and in the same drilling unit, there is a WPX 5-well Nighthawk pad, all wells on drl/drl status.

A bit farther to the west, is a Rimrock Two Shields Butte well that might be impacted by the Meadowlark wells, but it's a bit far to the west, so hard to say, but it was taken off line 3/20 and remains off line 4/20:
  • 30642, 3,572, Rimrock, Two Shields Butte 13-22-33-16H, Heart Butte, t9/15; cum 423K 3/20 -- note almost 500K bbls crude oil cumulative in five years
