Oil production actually increased slightly month-over-month.
Consistently above one million bbls of crude oil per day. Not trivial.
Remember: the North Dakota Bakken is in the manufacturing stage.
The Bakken continues to be a big deal for the state of North Dakota, but even more so, for individual mom/pop mineral owners and for many, many workers/families in the northwestern part of the state.
California is producing about 7 million bbls of oil per month or about 250,000 bopd. California is a pretty big state. The Bakken in North Dakota -- right now -- about two counties, no more than four counties in surface area but maybe six counties seeing activity if one includes Divide and Burke counties to the north.
