Lordstown, Ohio, is located in the heart of the Utica and Point Pleasant shale formation, meaning it is directly within the Utica natural gas play. The Utica Shale is a large geological formation that extends under much of Ohio, making Lordstown a key area for natural gas extraction within that field.
