Wow, I'm in a great mood.
These five-day vacations are the cat's meow as they say.
A month or so ago, we took a five-day cross-country trip from DFW (north Texas) to Philadelphia and back to attend the 100th birthday celebration of my only uncle.
Today we just returned from a three-day trip to eastern Tennessee and back today for two huge events. More on that later.
Tomorrow, I fly to Portland, OR, for five days for Halloween week with 3-y/o grandsons.
So, I'm now penciling in similar five-day destination-trips. Again, except for Portland, the trips will be by car. ICE, to be specific.
So, I look at a map, and draw a semi-circle that encompasses destinations that can visited / completed within five days.
Next up: San Antonio over Christmas. Then, Chicago in the spring, although I'm seriously considering a winter trip to Chicago.
