- largest foreign direct investment in Texas on record
- "Silicon Valley, Texas": north side of Austin, north to Round Rock; 30-mile stretch on I-35
- Taylor is a 30-minute drive to the east of Round Rock on US-79
- location on southwest side of Taylor, near intersection of US-79 and County Road 401;
- Samsung has one chip plant in the US: Austin, TX; this second one will be about an hour northeast
- Samsung said it was considering locations in New York (very, very unlikely) and Arizona (very, very possible)
- should be operational by 2H24
- would employ more than 2,000 people
- construction to begin 1H22
