- So many ways to get the best laptop in the world "for a song," as they say. Apple is pulling out all stops.
- The current best Apple laptop chip: the M5.
- That replaces the M4.
- Very, very few will notice the difference between the M4 and the M5.
- Apple is no longer offering the M4; only the M5.
- The M5 MacBook Air starts at $1,299.
- Amazon is already discounting the M5 MacBook Air to $1,149.
- But, Amazon is discounting the M4 MacBook Air down as low as $849.
- On top of that, one can get the M5 MacBook Air, as a lease, for as little as $25 / month for 36 months. Outrageous -- $25 / month. And then trade it in for an upgrade, and continue the lease. Rinse and repeat.
- My hunch: we will soon see refurbished MacBook Airs over at Amazon for even less.
- There is no excuse not to have the M4 MacBook Air and almost no excuse not to have the M5.
