Tesla? deliveries rose despite "exceptionally difficult" quarter. Source -- Financial Times. From CNBC:
- delivered: 310,048 vs expected 317,000 (range: 278,000 - 357,000)
- production: 305,407
- annualized production: 1.22 million
- composition of deliveries
- Model 3 and Model Y: 95% (295,324 vehicles)
- supply challenges and factory shutdowns: produced 4,641 fewer cars than it delivered
- Brandenburg, Germany: supposedly opened on March 22, 2022
- Austin, Texas: to open April 7, 2022
- headquarters: moved to Austin; officially as of December 1, 2022
- still operates its first factory in Fremont, CA
Benchmark for auto manufacturers:
- one million EVs per year is the low bar
