You are so correct. Rules were put in place to protect "all" players, but especially franchise players like quarterbacks. The problem is that the referees generally use no common sense in calling the infractions.
ReplyDeleteI am convinced that the long passes (the "hail Mary" and the "long bomb") are thrown with as good a chance as a pass interference call as a catch. The odds are great that the pass will either be caught or the defense will be called for holding and not only does the passer get the call (as good as a catch) but he gets an additional 15 yards.
