  1. In my youth I learned that there were about 150 wars ongoing. That includes big and little wars, and includes rebellions and such. It may be true always. But, we rarely hear of most of them. When we do we may find that the war we haven't heard of has gone on for generations.

That is unrelated to MDW, except, .... war and oil.

Sometimes they affect the price of oil. Sometimes not. Or, not now.

Price forecasts rarely mention more than one or two wars or potential wars.

That is why price forecasts, and futures markets, are very iffy.

How many know about the wars in Katanga Province in the big Congo, the rebels in Papua (Indonesia), or this, which seems to be a war that I had never heard of until today.

    1 of 150 ongoing wars, I suspect.

Yesterday, I learned that a weaponized infectious weapon can wipe out the population of a major city in a few minutes.

It is more pleasant to assume that nothing bad will happen. But, something might.

Something may affect demand or supply of oil, in a big way. Then we may learn of a war decades old that spawned the event.

Feel free to not post this. It is way off topic, almost.

That's why I love connecting dots. Sometimes we don't find all the dots until some days, months, years pass.
