Weather, Flooding, Road Closures Taking a Toll -- Bakken, North Dakota, USA
Active drilling rigs in North Dakota have been falling in number for the past couple of weeks, probably due to flooding and road closures. "We" are now at 169 rigs, well down from the 179-rig high not long ago.

What's bad is that this could be an annual event. The operators may have to give this situation serious consideration when scheduling future drills by taking not of the areas prone to flooding.
ReplyDeleteAfter driving around western North Dakota for the past few days, the oil industry has so much work to do, there is plenty of room for flexibility in scheduling.
ReplyDeleteAs noted, any obstacles in North Dakota pale in comparison to IEDs and terrorists in the Mideast.
