Observations: Global Oil, Apple MacBook Neo -- April 4, 2026

Locator: 50428OIL.

From what I can tell, there are two centers of gravity when it comes to oil and natural gas: the US and the Mideast (Saudi Arabia for oil; Qatar for natural gas).

Let's for argument's sake, suggest that these two centers of gravity are in competition with each other. Let's suggest that the US oil companies, Exxon, Chevron, ConocoPhillips as a group are in competition with Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, and Qatar as a group.

Right now, at this moment, which side is looking on in disbelief as the other center of gravity is destroying itself?

Six months ago, both sides were looking at $40 oil; neither side imagined $100-oil, much less $130-oil.

I think this is all quite fascinating.

MacBook Neo

I no longer watch the major networks; I mostly watch old movies (generally black and white; film noir) and Perry Mason. That's why I haven't seen any Apple MacBook Neo commercials, I suppose. But tonight, early in the Michigan - Arizona game I saw my first Neo commercial. Wow.

[An aside: I finally had to turn off the volume and watch the game "on mute." TNT's "Fab 5" alternate broadcast was incredibly annoying. I finally found TBS broadcast. Thank goodness.]

How's the Neo doing now?

Think about that. Walking into an Apple store to buy a Neo and being told that you will have to wait three weeks. Hmmmm.

I can't think of one thing of which I am familiar that has a three-week wait if I wanted to buy that thing.
