Silver Closes At Record High -- October 13, 2025

Silver: closes today at record high. Link here

Gold and silver futures close at fresh highs — with silver surpassing the record set in 1980. Both posted strong gains to start the week, with front-month gold futures settling up 3.3% to $4,108.60 a troy ounce and silver surging 6.8% to $50.13 a troy ounce. The underlying fundamentals for both metals looks promising, says Felipe Barragán of Pepperstone in a note. “While short-term profit-taking cannot be ruled out, the medium-term outlook for bullion remains constructive, supported by lingering macroeconomic fragility and shifting political dynamics.”
That means if you bought silver in 1980, after more than 40 years you've finally broke even.
