When I was growing up, it seemed the bogeyman was something that scared all us children. LOL. Haven't heard that word in a long time.

I guess  the "bogeyman" has changed. For the last five years (in some cases, longer):

• "it looks like a recession this year" (annual concern since 1984)
• "it's just a matter of time for China to invade Taiwan" (since 2004)
• "Apple's p/e is too high" (since like forever)
• "Nvidia can't possibly grow into their earnings" (since 2023 — exception to the 5-year history)
• "that asteroid was a near miss" (comes around every three years since 1969)
• "Trump will never be president" (2016) (2024)
• "it's a bubble" (since 2018)
• "stagflation persists" (since 2012)
• "climate change — ten years to save the earth" (since 1994)
