Reminder, my worldview, with regard to semi-conductor chips, I could be way-wrong on this, but this is my worldview, chips tracked here, and here (perhaps one of the best summaries on the web):
- at 10 nm: a couple of years ago; "everybody" working on the 10 nm
- at that time, INTC was struggling to make 10 nm
- Apple - TSM: at 7 nm and marketing them
- 7 nm: a couple of years ago;
- Apple-TSM: bread-and-butter
- INTC throwing in the towel
- 5 nm:
- Apple-TSM moving quickly from 5 nm to 3 nm
- others: not remarkable
- INTC has outsourced manufacturing of chips
- 3 nm: now standard for Apple-TSM
- 2 nm: today, see below. Wow!
Now, we're talking about a 2-nm (2 nm) chip:
