Blogging Will Be Delayed And Inefficient Today -- July 13, 2022

Wow, I'm in a great mood. Another beautiful day.

On the way over to the pool it dawned on me that the states (here in America) that are not facing "grid" problems are producing electricity with coal.

Meanwhile, the largest, most important state in the lower 48 is getting a lot of attention with regard to "grid" failure is relying on wind.

The French are paying $2,000 / MWh at "peak power contracts." Link here

By the way, I've never seen this discussed anywhere, but the renewable energy folks really, really had this all figured out. I first heard about the "scheme" when I attended a "lecture" at Harvard University's School of Business in Boston, MA, some years ago on off-shore wind development off the East Coast. It was quite a scheme. I saw through it immediately; I was surprised none of the students did, although one young woman who was very, very skeptical, was on the right track. Hint: what will the last barrel of oil cost?

Anyway, this bothers me not.

I was out at the pool at 8:30. I would have been here earlier but I had a couple of errands to run.

My blogging will be inefficient today: I will be finishing one book today, and beginning the second book later.

  1. Ercot peak power price at 13:30 CDST was north of $2000/MWH (kinda like cost in France)
ISO New England price at 14:30 EDST was less than $70/MWH

    1. Yes, that's the problem with renewable energy. As noted, I saw through this scam several years ago when the scheme was presented at Harvard.

    2. North if $5000/MWH for the past couple of hours. If only there was a less expensive battery to store those pesky little electrons. :-)
