Sunday Night -- October 3, 2021

Interesting. I found a McDonald's that was open and with wi-fi. Imagine that.

Not in the mood to blog. Just checking NFL scores. I heard that Dallas won.

NASCAR Talladega rained out; will race tomorrow.

Traveling.

Battle of Shiloh

Covid-19: traveling, it's interesting to hear first-hand the stories of how various communities responded to Covid-19 during the year of the plague, 2020. I'm convinced that if I presented any graphic of the number of active cases and the number of deaths over time for any given state, one could not guess what state was being presented. Some states closed down / locked down completely; some states pretty much ignored everything: social distancing, masks, jabs, and lock downs, and yet looking at the data one cannot separate one state from another. Compare New York state with Tennessee, for example.

Americans are so "well off," fifty percent can "refuse" vaccines while the rest of the world is clamoring to get their "fair share." Whatever.

Visiting Shiloh today sort of put things into perspective.

US debt: I was talking to someone today who was "concerned" about the US debt. I asked him/her what impact the US debt would have on him/her. Unable to answer.

US equity futures: if you haven't checked tonight's futures, you might want to. Interesting, to say the least.

NFL today, despite losing to Dallas today --

After one of his two rushing touchdowns in the first half of the Panthers’ matchup with the Cowboys on Sunday, Sam Darnold looked to his sideline and offered a smile and a Michael Jordan-type shrug.

And who could blame him?

The Panthers’ quarterback, not one known for his running ability, made history with his legs early Sunday afternoon: Darnold is now the first quarterback in NFL history to run for five touchdowns in the first four games of a season.

Well, I guess that's it. Time to get back on the road. Lots of driving left tonight. Great music.
