I'm curious; how do you get this information? It is not on my basic service. It is like sneaking a peek at Christmas presents before the day....
ReplyDelete1. I use "search" function at this site to find the wells coming off confidential list at this site (free): https://www.dmr.nd.gov/oilgas/confidential.asp.
Delete2. Then with a Basic Services subscription ($50/annual) I look up the scout tickets.

DeleteI have the basic service. I'm just surprised that they actually publish production on wells that are still Confidential. I'd never noticed this before. Like #37322 doesn't show anything under Scout tickets; however, it does show up on basic/well production. Interesting~ Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
ReplyDeleteYes, that's an interesting bit of regulatory transparency and it makes sense. Even if the well is still on confidential status, if the operator is producing oil AND selling it, the amount sold (RUNS) must be reported to the state. The actual production number is still confidnential.
DeleteBut it makes sense. A mineral owner, such as the state of North Dakota, wants to know if (and how much oil) is actually being sold on a monthly basis even if the well is on confidential status. So, you are seeing amount of oil sold if a well is on confidential list but you don't know how many days the well was on-line. Generally, the first month the well might be on line for only a few days.
North Dakota must be the most transparent state there is when it comes to oil reporting.
