SP Global Platts: natural gas inventories for week ending May 17-2019 expected Thursday to show a 103-billion cubic feet injection; if so, it would exceed the 93-Bcf build in the same week a year ago and exceed the 5-yr average injection of 88 Bcf.

we've had seven five-year-high injections for the week in a row, but we've have to top the 108 billion cubic feet from 2014 for the week ending May 17 to make it eight..
ReplyDeleteThank you -- we'll have to watch the wording closely: 5-year high vs 5-year average.
Deleteyeah, it's difficult to express what i'm talking about in a simple phrase...what i mean is that the injections for each week of 2019 since March 29 was greater than the injection for the same week of 2014, of 2015, of 2016, of 2017, and of 2018, now for seven weeks in a row...that might be some kind of record, but i have no idea how one would check for that...
DeleteYes, I understood your comment. I had missed the wording that Platts used -- they were talking about the "5-year" average - which is a lot different than weekly injections -- which, I agree with you, is more interesting when trying to see if records are being set.
