Cocktail Hour Trivia
Quick: what's the memory capacity of a human brain?
Before answering, the most common external drive for your laptop computer has a capacity of one terabyte. A terabyte is 1,000 gigabytes.
So, now back to the human brain -- what's the accepted memory capacity?
About 2.5 petabytes or 2.5 million gigabytes.
2,500 terabyte external drives. From Scientific American:
If your brain worked like a digital video recorder in a television, 2.5 petabytes would be enough to hold three million hours of TV shows. You would have to leave the TV running continuously for more than 300 years to use up all that storage.Disclaimer: I often make simple arithmetic errors, especially when working with large numbers.
