If the arithmetic is correct, that's 225,618 bbls, and generally speaking the first month is not a full month of production. But we'll see. This should be a long lateral based on the name of the well. EOG started out doing short laterals in their Parshall field, but the field is pretty much spaced for 1280-acre drilling units now.
And that, folks, is why the Bakken never ceases to amaze me. EOG has ten rigs working this field. There was a time, after the boom settled down a bit, EOG had only one rig -- and some days -- no rigs in this field.

More Global Warming
The government shuts down ... again. This time, it's the threat of another snow storm. Is is just me, or does it seem we are having more extreme winters these past few years? I wonder if this has to do with the end of global warming ... which occurred about 18 years ago.
When I read the article from your segment on the Williston Wire regarding Bakken Update (Seeking alpha) by Mike Filloon I read in this article something that was shocking as well as surprising. Michael states that a 100,000 bbl refinery is on the table in Williston. This is beyond the 20k bbl units in Dickinson and Trenton and the 13k bbl unit inNew Town. Have you heard anything on the table regarding a moderate sized refinery being built in Williston.
ReplyDeleteI remember vaguely reading the same thing but for the life of me can't remember the details.
DeleteThere is talk of a new refinery southwest of Minot:

I think that's why I don't remember it; it's a great headline, but at this point, it seems be another "pie in the sky" project. I won't hold my breath for a new 100,000 bopd refinery in North Dakota.
That's two days of total No Dakota daily production 10 years ago. Wow.
ReplyDeleteIt's quite a story, isn't it? 250,000 bbls in less than six (five?) months. Now you know why I have trouble getting through the long weekends. It's hard to wait for news coming out of the Bakken.
