Eleven (11) New Permits -- The Bakken, North Dakota, USA

Daily activity report, November 21, 2011 --

Operators: Whiting (4), Newfield (3),  G3 Operating (2),  CLR, Sinclair

Fields:  Todd, Sanish, Robinson Lake, Tobacco Garden.

Both of G3 Operating permits are for wildcats in Williams County (the wells will be Pasternak wells; I noted today there is a Pasternak Road northwest of Williston).

Of eight (8) wells coming off confidential status, four were not completed/fracked (50% wells are not completed at time they come off confidential list; this percent has held steady for several months).

Of the ten wells that came off DRL status, some of them had some nice IPs, of note:
  • 19993, 1,242, Slawson, Hunter 2-8-17H, Mountrail
  • 20406, 1,859, Sinclair, Martens 2-4H, Mountrail
Of more concern, however, were these (but there may be a perfectly good explanation; I've not had time to research them yet):
  • 20032, 9 (no typo), OXY USA, Kannegieter 160-90-17 P-1H, Dimond oil field; t8/11; F; cum 43K 4/12;
  • 20657, 10, OXY USA, Oxy Swenson 160-91-13-11-P-2H, Bakken, Burke
  • 20743, 55, Erickson 160-91-8-D-1H, Bakken, Burke
It's very possible the "P" stands for "pilot" hole and and the rest of the story is yet to be told. The "D" stands for the sector in which the well was sited.
