Two rollover accidents in past 24 hours in the Bakken; one a small vehicle; the other a 18-wheeler.
One driver died.
One survived.
One driver was 46 years old.
One driver was 23 years old.
One was wearing his seat belt. He survived.
One wasn't wearing his seat belt. He did not survive.
By the way, it was the 23-year-old who was wearing his seat belt.
I was guessing the younger was beltless..It is sad to hear one die because they did not belt in...
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing how something so simple saves lives ... even NASCAR drives strap in.
ReplyDeleteIt is sad the truck traffic is heavy. I still notice too many people driving and talking on cell phones. One second of time on busy roads can be devestating. We all need to stop talking and driving. The next spot to stop will get your message or call back. Also buckle up!!
ReplyDeleteLong-time residents in North Dakota have not had experience with trucks -- long stopping distances; fast drivers; etc., etc.
ReplyDeleteAnd the truck drivers from outside North Dakota are not aware that North Dakotans have grown up in a very different driving culture -- slower, casual driving, not NASCAR fans, etc.
Recipe for a lot of accidents when you get two different driving cultures in same space.
