Rocky Ridge oil field is very irregularly shaped, running diagonally about 13 miles from its northwest corner down to its southeast corner. It has about 20 sections in all. It's a Tyler-Heath oil field. There are 72 permits/wells for that field including some that go all the way back to the late 1950's. Status of the wells/permits:
- six (6) of those permits: PNC
- nineteen (19) are permanently abandoned
- three (3) are inactive
- one (1) well is still active (#6015)
- one (1) is confidential -- it should come off the list Monday
- forty-one (41) wells were dry
