We celebrate my wife's birthday for a full week each year, usually starting one week before her actual birth date. Each day for seven days we celebrate her birthday in some way, culminating on the actual birth date.
We will be adding a new "celebration" this year, which begins today. Next spring, a year from now, 2027, we will celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary -- more about the wedding in a later post -- but on January 16, 1976, we had our first date. We met each other in December, 1975, but only as "colleagues" as it were -- one might say she was an instructor and I was a student. A long story but a great story as all love stories are.
So, starting today, we will begin a full year of celebration. At a minimum we will do something each month, and the "somethings" will increase in frequency as we get closer to the actual anniversary in 2027.
Today: ramen for lunch at one of the best ramen restaurants in the DFW area.
On another note, our combined ages hit 150 years of age last November, 2025.
