North Dakota just announced that August, 2020, deposits into the Legacy Fund totaled slightly more than $20 million.
Meanwhile, Minneapolis has announced that it will spend almost $5 million for a new police headquarters for three years after the previous building was destroyed during "mostly peaceful" protests. Link: https://www.foxnews.com/us/minneapolis-police-headquarters-previous-building-protest.
The city will renovate an existing building for $1.2 million and then allocate $3.6 million to sublease the building for three years. The new location is about a half-mile from MPD's Third Precinct which was burned down by "mostly peaceful" rioters May 28, 2020, after officers were forced to abandon it.
Okay, that's for three years. Then what? A new building or a lease extension. Money that won't be spent on city social programs. Okay.
Or maybe the city will simply de-fund and do away with the MPD Third Precinct.
