    1. Thank you. I will correct that. No excuse for such a dumb error on my part. Thank you for catching it.

    2. Cool, a 67 million new rec center!! (I knew it would happen, glad they didn't take forever like Gillette) Now to get that Trenton refinery going! Thinking hard about bringing my environmental science, machinist, operating engineer skills to Williston

    3. Definitely a changed city. If I count correctly, this rec center will have four swimming pools -- a swimming "park," a pool for lessons/programs, a lap pool, and a wave pool.

Four separate gyms. Maybe time to start thinking about hosting a summer Olympics. Harold Hamm can organize.

  2. Bruce, If I remember correctly, Williston's Wal-mart super center is around 214,000 sq ft. I think they pretty much build all the new ND super centers the same size in Williston, Minot, Bismarck and Dickinson's anyway. If not 214k, then just a little over. I'm guessing the new Rec Center's sq ft includes the sections on the 2nd level...so HOPEFULLY won't be the same footprint as Super Wal-mart...but I guess if it was, it would be good exercise just to get from point a to point b in the new Rec Center. Afterall, it is all about exercise! lol

    1. You are probably correct; I really couldn't remember; was going from something someone sent me sometime ago. I will update the post above. Thank you for helping me out.

    2. http://www.willistonherald.com/news/hang-dude-new-rec-center-to-have-surf-simulator/article_9ea05bd2-898a-11e1-9de5-001a4bcf887a.html

Well, the new Williston Recreation Center just grew by another 35,000 sq. ft.

The new design will now require more than 241,000 sq. ft, up from 204,0000 sq. feet in the last update.

This is nearly 100,000 sq ft larger than the original plan of 148,000 sq. ft. This is a really good thing for Williston. The indoor water park in this article is going to be a huge asset to the community.
