Tesoro Corp. announced Monday that it plans to increase capacity at its North Dakota refinery by 10,000 barrels a day, partly because of record production in the rich Bakken shale and Three Forks formations in the western part of the state. This probably won't help overall takeaway capacity because the refinery is "outside" the Bakken area. Bakken oil will still have to go into the pipeline to get to the refinery.
It is interesting to read that the refinery is operating at full capacity.
