For those interested, the Alger oil field has been updated. The western half of this oil field has had some spectacular wells. In addition, if it weren't for the NDIC, I'm afraid this field would result in some good ol' western shootouts between EOG and BEXP over some promising sections. As it is, I think there are some interesting arguments being placed before the commission by the companies' lawyers.
Since I last checked in on this oil field, there are now five (5) rigs on site and several wells have been completed, and another one is almost complete. This field has the well that BEXP says set the record for initial 24-hour flowback in the Bakken with over 5,000 boepd: the Sorenson 29-32 1-H. Needless to say, there are several wells on confidential status in the immediate area, as well as one well that is almost complete.
