Oil prices:
- Clearbrook: WTI + $0.05
- Cushing (WTI): $71.60
- LSS: WTI + $1.62
- Brent: WTI +$3.29 ($74.89)
Crude oil production by state in very, very round numbers, bopd, 2020, link here:
- in a league by itself:
- Texas: 5 million bopd
- it is what it is
- GofM: 1.7 million bopd
- bragging rights for #2 among states; both could see significant increase if price is right (and only if ND can attract fracking spreads);
- NM: 1 million bopd
- ND: 1 million bopd
- next five:
- Alaska: 0.5 million (iffy)
- CO: 0.5 million (will struggle to do much more -- too many faux environmentalists)
- OK: 0.5 million (probably maxed out)
- CA: 0.4 million (iffy going forward, but no one cares)
- WY: 0.3 (lots of talk but pretty marginal)
- not one other state produces more than 0.1 million bopd; a handful of states produce 75,000 bopd
- most surprising:
- UT: with upwards of three trillion in reserves, produces all of 87,000 bbs oil per day; North Dakota produces that much every two hours;
- sleeper?
- LA? only 95,000 bopd but oil-friendly state and operators getting interested; it's hard to believe the Texas miracle stops at the state line.
