Pickups -- 3Q19

Link here.  Pickup truck sales by America's three domestic automakers continued to rule in the third quarter.
And Ford Motor Co.'s F-150 pickup continues to be America's most-popular vehicle choice.

Ford announced on Wednesday that it sold 214,176 F-150 trucks in the latest quarter, down 6 percent from a year earlier. For the calendar year, Ford said it's sold 662,574 F-150 pickup trucks, down 2.4 percent from 2018.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles now makes the country's second-largest-selling pickup truck, as it sold 161,635 Ram pickups in the latest quarter, up 14 percent from a year earlier. For the calendar year, Fiat Chrysler said it's sold 461,115 Ram trucks, up 23 percent from 2018.

General Motors Co. reported it sold 153,853 of its Silverado LD (light duty) and HD (heavy duty) pickup trucks in the latest quarter, up 15 percent from a year earlier. For the calendar year, GM reported that it's sold 409,316 Silverado LD and HD pickup trucks, down 3.5 percent from 2018.

The Ram is poised to finish second in total pickup truck sales for the full year 2019, overtaking the Silverado, in part because GM's been affected by the weeks-long strike by United Auto Workers union members, putting a dent in GM pickup truck production.
