Absolutely Amazing How CLR Is "Attacking" Brooklyn Oil Field North Of Williston -- November 1, 2018

The company added six more permits yesterday for the Brooklyn oil field. To date, this year, so far:

  • 2560-acre overlapping units: 
    • middle Bakken: 9 x 2 = 18 wells
    • Three Forks, H1: 9 x 2 = 18

    • 5120-acre units

      From the permit, #35658: a Three Forks B1 well; runs north; and drilling unit is 5120 acres.

      You may have cracked the code... So, that would be a 4 mile horizontal in a 5120... I have heard of 3 mile horizontals, but not sure if I've heard of 4 miles...

      I'll post a screen shot of the permit of one of the wells in a 5120-acre drilling unit. The wells will be typical long lateral horizontal wells (the typical "two-mile" horizontal -- not three miles, not four miles). But anyone owning minerals in any of the eight sections in this 5120-acre drilling unit will receive royalties from this well.

      In fact, even if the well was a short lateral - if it was only a mile long but yet it was in a 5120-acre drilling unit, mineral owners in all eight sections would be paid royalties from this well.

      But I will post a screen shot of the permit to demonstrate what I'm talking about. It will be later, though, when I have some time.

    I have been asking that same question and I came to the conclusion that SL - Section Line. H -Horizontal.

      Yes, I should have said that: "SL" = section line. The"1" = a Three Forks first bench well. Thank you for that.
