The latest Kantar BrandZ Global Top 100 ranking assigns Apple the top position in a comprehensive analysis of brand performance, marking a continued upward trend for the company.
Kantar's valuation methodology combines financial performance with brand perception, incorporating insights from over 4.5 million consumer interviews across 522 categories in 54 markets.
According to the report, Apple's dominance reflects sustained consumer trust, premium positioning, and successful diversification across hardware, software, and services. The company's brand value now constitutes approximately 12% of the total value of the BrandZ Global Top 100, which stands at $10.7 trillion in 2025.
Kantar also identifies Apple as representative of two of the fastest-growing categories in the ranking: consumer technology and luxury. According to the report, these sectors grew 46% and 45% respectively, outperforming categories such as finance, automotive, and telecoms. The report cites sustained demand for high-end devices like the iPhone Pro models and the Apple Watch Ultra as indicators of this dual-category positioning.

Main Post

The secret behind the incredibly long battery life of the iPhone 16e: YouTube.

The C1: debuted February 19, 2025. Less than three months ago.

The C1 is Apple's first custom-designed modem chip, introduced in the iPhone 16e. It's the first modem Apple has designed in-house, instead of relying on Qualcomm, and aims to improve performance and power efficiency for cellular connectivity. See also C4000.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

First In-House Modem:
  • The C1 marks a significant shift for Apple, as it's the first modem they've developed and manufactured entirely in-house.
Power Efficiency:
  • Apple claims the C1 is themost power-efficient modem ever on an iPhone, leading to extended battery life, particularly in the iPhone 16e.
5G Capabilities:
  • The C1 supports fast and reliable 5G connectivity, though it focuses on sub-6 GHz bands and not the higher-speed millimeter wave.
Vertical Integration:
  • The C1 chip integrates 4G/5G modem, satellite connectivity, and GPS into a single unit, reducing the overall size and improving efficiency. Does “C” stand for "combo"? Or "inCredicle"?
Future Evolution -- the C-chip series:
  • Apple's C1 is expected to be superseded by C2 and C3 in future iPhones, and there are speculations that the C-series modems might eventually be integrated into the main SoC, potentially bringing cellular capabilities to devices like Mac.
