The headline:
The lede:
While gasoline prices are still $1.50 higher per gallon than they were this time last year, they fell sharply overnight in what was the largest one-day drop in nearly 15 years.
The current price for a gallon of gasoline in the United States is averaging $4.721 on Friday, down from $4.752 per gallon on Thursday—a 3.1-cent drop. The weekly change is even more significant at 12.1 cents.
A drop of 3.1 cents on $4.752 is not even statistically significant or meaningful. A change of 0.65% -- not even a one-percent drop. A one-percent drop would have been ... almost a nickel.
Not to be outdone, this video posted by Josh Young:

from this Observational Point Gasoline at the 1 Station, we have on July 1 st was $ 4.74 today that gasoline is $ 4.69, so i assume with the NEW math that may qualify for the largest drop in 15 years. don
ReplyDeleteWell, there you go! A nickel less. Biden has a new talking point: the price of gasoline dropped by the largest amount in fifteen years. This guy is brilliant.
