232 days - it took over 30 years for Anchorage to set a new record for the longest snow season on record. And then this, it took 2/10ths + 1/10th: 3/10ths of an inch to set the record:
The National Weather Service measured 2/10ths of an inch just after 9 p.m. Friday and 1/10th Saturday morning - breaking the old record of 230 days set in 1981-1982.The numbers sort of remind me of the story that sea levels have already risen 0.6 mm due to global warming. That's less than a centimeter which is less than .... well, it's less than something....
So, now, in one day two records broken:
- longest season on record in Alaska
- coldest April on record in North Dakota
