Daily activity report, August 26, 2011 --
Operators: CLR (4), Whiting (2), Hess (2), Oasis, Enerplus, Petro-Hunt
Fields: Sanish, Beaver Lodge, Eagle Nest, Sauk, and two wildcats.
Hess has a 2-well pad in Beaver Lodge; CLR has an Eco-Pad in Sauk oil field.
Whiting has two wells in their cash cow, the Sanish.
Oasis has one wildcat in Williams County, and Petro-Hunt has the other, also in Williams.
One well was released from confidential list today, but no data, so waiting to be fracked.
Given that there is a backlog I assume we are looking at the maximum rate that the ndic is capable of operating in terms of issuing apd. 15 to 20 per day tops. I don't know the new permit application rate but I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the queue is getting longer. I must say the directors statements are not particularly clear to me with respect to the ndic workload and resource base. II would hope the director and the industrial commission are on top of the situation.
ReplyDeleteMore resources are required maybe temp but the trend is for more activity..
World class management would identify and report process metrics that accurately reflect how well a process is functioning. Ndic needs to take their processes to the next level.
Again I don't have enough information to comment.
ReplyDeleteMy perspective has changed immensely now that I am "living" in Williston. I still don't see permitting as an issue.
Anytime there is a growing backlog then at some point it will become an issue.
ReplyDeleteThe time to deal with growth is before it becomes "an issue".
My only point was that because the way the ndic metrics are reported are so vague, you cant tell how well the process is or is not performing.
Noted.
