For the archives:
For one year.
- RIVN: down 83%
- RIDE: down 72%
- LCID: down 83%
- GOEV (Canoo): down 87%
- ARVL (Arrival SA EV): down 98%)
- TSLA: down 70%
Folks paying >$80,000 for an EV (a luxury vehicle) will certainly research "cold weather" data following the North American December, 2022, Arctic cyclone bomb.
Winter range loss, link here:
But also note, mileage range in great weather:
- VW e-Golf: 125 miles
- BMW i3: 125 miles
- Tesla Model X: 150 miles
- Nissan Leaf: 175 miles
- Ford Mustang Mach-E: 250 miles
- Hyundai Kona: 280 miles
And as one gets close to 90% of advertised range, one starts looking for a charging unit.
Price:
- VW e-Golf: $32,000 to $38,000
- BMW i3: $44,450 - $48,645
- Tesla Model X: $105,000 to $140,000
- Nissan Leaf: $28,000 for a golf cart
- Ford Mustang Mach-E: starting price of $60,500.
- Hyundai Kona: $26,000
My hunch: as the major automakers pivoting to EVs, theirs boards of directors and CEOs, CFOs looking at the "internals" are starting to get a little nervous. The major auto makers can hide "this stuff" for only so long.
