February 15, 2013: industry feels comfortable/optimistic with status of fracking studies in New York.
Original Post
Oil & Gas Journal is reporting:
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's administration faces a delay in deciding whether to allow high-volume hydraulic fracturing because the state Department of Health said it needed more time to review the practice.
The health department's decision to take more time to review a state environmental impact statement on fracing means a delay for the state Department of Environmental Conservation, which had tentatively planned on releasing an extensive environmental review Feb. 13.

34 GW of power being taken off-line due to new EPA regulations. At some point, this will catch up with us. In the near term, residential utility rates will rise slowly, and increased commercial utility rates will be passed on to the consumer.
DeleteWow, we are so lucky the revolution in natural gas occurred when it did. The irony is that just when the EPA looked to kill the fossil industry (coal first), the oil and gas industry came roaring back. Fracking caught everybody by surprise.
What property and mineral owners should do is join in a class action case against the state of New York. Denying private property owners the use of their property for their advancement is counter to the Constitution.
ReplyDeleteA class action case is needed every so often to remind the government what private property rights really mean. People working together can make a difference against the self appointed, self important rulers and their negative actions.
My hunch is that the oil companies are free to drill in New York; they just can't use modern technology.
