Notes From All Over, Part 1 -- February 13, 2020

Cold front in north Texas today: beautiful day. No precipitation; no wind. Early morning clouds breaking up. Jacket required for most of us. North Dakota roughnecks would be in short sleeves.

Meanwhile, in the Bakken:

Punk'd @ #NotTheRealPunxsutawneyPhil: "Okay, so I blew it. I was sucked in by St Greta." -- on twitter today.

Impeachment talk: again, already. Okay.

McDonald's: drive-through lane backed up three times longer than usual. Hard to find parking space. Should have ridden my bike. Folks must be getting ready for Valentines Day.

Spanish: most common language heard in our neighborhood McDonald's.

Spanglish: second most common language.

Dumb and dumber:
  • Then: China lies about how bad the coronavirus is.
  • Now: China tells us how bad the coronavirus is.
From China with love: my Valentines' Day beret for Corky arrived last week.

  • Data points:
    • the item: 30 cents worth of material; weight: less than an ounce
    • price: $7.95
    • shipping: $7.45
    • ordered: early January
    • arrived: one month later
    • priceless
Worth a thousand words:

Can you imagine how much Washington, DC, could have done for the American people had they worked with President Trump?
