Technology for 60-Stage Fracturing -- Bakken, North Dakota, USA

On March 9, 2011, I wrote that Whiting was looking at technology that would allow 60-stage fracture stimulation.

Most likely this is the technology Whiting is looking at: QuickFRAC by Packers Plus. Just as much fun is looking where Packers Plus Energy Services has district offices. Note that they are located in Williston, North Dakota, as well as offices around the world.

Here's another nice link to QuickFRAK sent to me by a reader. See comment below. Thank you very much.

  1. Under advantages/benefits, they should have also listed -greatly reduced water usage, mentioned in the last paragraph of the narative. That, along with reduced use of fracking fluids should be a huge plus in the Marcellus. I wonder if the QuickFrac process will work with the GasFrac technology, where they use liquid propane in place of water.

  3. Thank you; it's been a long time since I've visited Keith Schaerfer's "Oil and Gas Investment Bulletins."

Connecting all these dots -- 60-stage fracking, Whiting's new industrial park outside Dickinson, $9,000/acre in the Zenith -- it's getting exciting.
