The new movie complex will feature stadium seating with two or more large format screens, according to a press release issued by T&J Agnes Theatres, which runs the current movie theaters in downtown Williston.
The new movie theater will be called Sand Creek Cinema 14, and will replace T&J’s downtown and drive-in locations.
At the new complex, which will be built on the west side of Williston in the same shopping center a new Menards is slated to be built.

Is it stadium seating. If it is then we are talking big time.
ReplyDeleteYes, the press release, and the blurb above, both state "stadium seating."
DeleteNice to have some indoor entertainment for cold winter days. What a nice treat for area people. Bringing in the luxury seating! Much nicer than years past. Wonder if they will sell Pizza and ice cream treats too.
ReplyDeleteThey might need a parking garage too. Thats a big complex.
ReplyDeleteFolks will take mass transit to the new "megaplex", leaving their Volts and other EVs at home (for charging).
DeleteThe new subway system will pretty much parallel existing thoroughfares, with four main lines: the King Olaf, the Ole, the Lena, and the Santa Maria.
Wait, so the drive-in is closed or will be closing?
ReplyDeleteThat will be the site where the four subway lines will be crossing.
DeleteNothing much said about the demise of the drive in theater. It is my understanding that it was the last one in No.Dak. I have many fond memories driving through the gate with a couple of buddies in the trunk of the car.
ReplyDeleteThis was all that was said in the story:

There has been a real estate for sale sign at the drive in since last summer. It was a matter of time. That is prime real estate.
ReplyDeleteWow, isn't that the truth, prime real estate. I'm still waiting for some nice business offices to go up, like BEXP's west of Williston. I assume BHI is very, very nice. I left the area before it was completed. Schlumberger looked completely utilitarian but maybe I will be surprised. I'm thinking of incredibly nice buildings like the Hess building in Tioga.
DeleteWith Halliburton employing nearly 1,500 people in the Williston area, I'm wondering when they will build an office complex of sorts. I know they have one on their campus, but am thinking they might need to move some of their office workers into something new. I think it's time someone invest in a nice office building in downtown Williston! :)
ReplyDeleteAgree 100%.
