Lower for longer: the price of oil.
Longer and longer: Covid-19 recovery.
Disney: triple whammy -- theme parks closed, sports dying, movie theaters closing. They're also big in cruise ship industry. Television sports ratings way down.
Fleeing NYC: can't wait to see the 2020 annual United Van Line graphic. For now, an interim report.
Pandemic panic: mainstream media did such a great job on this, "we're" not going to put this genie back into the bottle any time soon. Folks have said this all goes away after the election in November. I don't think so.
EVs: nothing new in this article. Absolutely nothing new but it summarizes nicely the challenge automakers face. Over at E&E News.
Tesla:
Trump: I'm still amazed how this guy -- 74-year-old with multiple co-morbidities -- ends up in the hospital Friday night, absolutely "hit" with a really, really toxic triple cocktail and walks out the front door of the hospital on Monday. Of course, he actually left Sunday to go for a drive. Was it a toxic triple cocktail or a triple toxic cocktail? Whatever:
- dexamethasone (Decadron): a miracle drug but highly toxic
- remdesivir (Veklury): hardly a miracle drug but incredibly toxic
- human plasma: who knows what one is getting in this plasma; pooled from anonymous donors
Sports: we've seen the dismal BLM ratings, but now the NFL numbers are coming in.
"Sunday Night Football on NBCrating ratings plummet 39%" -- lowest number in nearly two years -- and again, folks are stuck at home and starved for professional sports. This is simply unexpected. Sports: I'm becoming less impressed with Mark Cuban as every day passes. He didn't see this coming. #GoWokeGoBroke.
Nobody is going out to bars, so that is also a big factor in the ratings, but yes, I agree, people are getting fed up with the protesting. Also a reminder, "On the Rocks" with Bill Murray is in theatres now I believe. I know you are a big "Lost in Translation" fan, as am I. This movie is another Bill Murray + Sofia Coppola collaboration. Interestingly enough, apple tv bought the movie rights to this film, and it will also be exclusively on Apple TV in a very short period.
ReplyDeleteYou are so correct. I had forgotten about the sports bars as well as parties at home to watch the games.
DeleteYes, I am a huge fan of Bill Murray -- glad to see them (Sofia Coppola and Murray) still working together. Thank you for the reminder.
