Some notes about this well from the file report:
  • 3.5 miles northeast of Watford City
  • target: the porous dolomitic sandstone of the Three Forks, 1st bench
  • spud, June 6, 2016
  • the middle Bakken penetrated at 11,122' TVD
  • the lower Bakken was drilled at 11,165' TVD (making the middle Bakken about 43 feet thick)
  • the Pronghorn penetrated at 11,165' TVD (sic)
  • the Three Forks 1st bench was penetrated at 11,194' TVD
  • gas and hydrocarbon shows were a poor indicator of placement in Zone throughout the lateral
  • gas fluctuated between 500 - 800 units throughout the majority of the lateral with peaks sometimes in excess of 1,000 units
  • in the summary it was noted that the lateral was targeting the Three Forks 1st bench ranging from 18' below the Pronghorn down to approximately 37' below the Pronghorn [which made the 1st bench about 20' thick, half the thickness of the middle Bakken]
  • drilling operations concluded on June 26, 2016
  • 90% of the lateral was within the target formation; no exposure to the Claystone
